  • NEW ASD TerraSpec 4

PAS would like to introduce the NEW ASD TerraSpec 4 Hi-Res near-infrared Spectrometer and the TerraSpec 4 Standard-Res near-infrared Spectrometer.

ASD TerraSpec Hi-Res: Optimized Mineral Exploration Instrument

Long considered the standard for excellence in mineral exploration technology, the ASD TerraSpec® line of portable and rugged infrared mineral analyzers has been upgraded to help you determine the viability of potential mining sites faster than ever before. The TerraSpec 4 Hi-Res mineral spectrometer uses 6 nm resolution and enhanced performance in the SWIR 1 and 2 regions to quickly and accurately measure diverse geologic samples, including those with darker mineral features. Mobile, compact and extremely durable, TerraSpec 4 Hi-res is ready for work in any environment.

    • Upgraded optics provide more precise spectral results than previous TerraSpec instruments, leading to excellent spectrum clarity and definition.
    • A twofold performance improvement in the SWIR 1/SWIR 2 regions leads to better alteration mineral analysis.
    • More portable and rugged than previous models, the TerraSpec 4 Hi-Res’ new backpack and standard 802.11g Wi-Fi let you move through exploration sites more freely
    • Non-destructive measurement means fast, repeatable field scans.

The upgraded TerraSpec 4 reduces mining exploration costs by providing more precise data more quickly. The TerraSpec 4 Hi-Res also accurately measures low-concentration and low-reflectance minerals, like iron-containing minerals such as serpentines and chlorites, which were previously difficult to measure. It is the most precise and most versatile tool available for optimizing mining exploration efforts.

The TerraSpec 4 Hi-Res mineral analyzer has been optimized for a range of mineral exploration applications, including deposit mapping.

TerraSpec 4 Standard-Res: Providing a New Level of Accuracy for Precision Mining

ASD TerraSpec® mining instruments are already the established standard for mineral analysis measurement in mining production. However, with the new upgrades found in the TerraSpec 4 Standard-Res, leading mine operators can enhance the productivity of mining site ore analysis like never before. With 10 nm resolution, the TerraSpec 4 Standard-Res mineral analyzer uses ASD’s near-infrared spectrometry to measure a wide variety of geologic samples, including those with darker mineral content, offering better visibility into the ore sorting, processing and extraction processes. Portable and rugged, the flexible spectrometer easily transitions from high-throughput mineralogical analysis in the lab to ore feed and tailing analysis in the field.

    • With enhanced optics, the TerraSpec 4 Standard-Res accelerates production by delivering more precise spectral data in a fraction of the time required by previous models.
    • High-throughput sample analysis (more than 1,000 samples a day) means accurate measurements in even the most demanding production environments.
    • Upgraded feature recognition provides accurate analysis of darker rock and clay samples, which were previously difficult to measure.
    • Double the performance in the SWIR 1/SWIR 2 regions leads to improved alteration mineral analysis.

The TerraSpec 4 Standard-Res instrument enhances mining production by supplying more accurate mineralogical information faster than ever before. The mining analyzer’s substantial improvement in spectral response leads to optimized, real-time production analysis for a wide range of materials, including clays minerals such as kaolinite, dickite, smectite or montmorillinite. The highly accurate spectral data provided by the TerraSpec 4 Standard-Res requires less interpretation by lab technicians, allowing ore processing to proceed for more quickly and more efficiently.

The TerraSpec 4 Standard-Res mineral analyzer has been optimized for a variety of mining production measurement applications, including heap leach optimization, ore sorting, agglomeration optimization, and floatation ore feed control.
